Spirit is a very low cost airline, so it's amazingly cheap, but be prepared to pay for everything: luggage, choosing your seat, check-in at the airport, beverages on board, and so on... When booking your flight, I advise you take the time to read how much every options cost and decide what you need and what you don't need, to avoid any surprises. If you do this, your experience with Spirit should be good.
This flight from Detroit to Denver was perfect, and we arrived almost 30mn early. My only complaint is about the cabin, which was a bit filthy, with some crumbs on the floor. Also, if you're tall, buy an option for a better seat because the seat pitch standard is tight !
